"Under Cover" Opens this week in Saratoga

Thursday's opening of "Under Cover" at the Spring Street Gallery in Saratoga Springs was quite the hit, despite unbelievably bad weather preceding the event. The show features traditional and contemporary textile creations including wall quilts and wearable art in an intimate gallery setting. The display will remain open until April 16, 2010.

Seventeen artists, including many ARTAA members, displayed an array of creations to a crowd of well wishers. Visitors enjoyed a delightful evening of refreshments followed by introductions and discussions with the artists.

The art is available for purchase and a wonderful assortment of greeting cards prepared by the artists is also on sale. A series of three-hour workshops is offered during the exhibit, as well as a theatre reading and a film: the QUILTS of GEE's BEND .
